DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

 Department of Mechanical Engineering arranged an industrial visit for B.E. students to Bhandardara Hydroelectric power plant on 5th & 6th October. Total 45 students attended th visit along with three faculty members. It was a nice blend of practical knowledge and natures beauty.

One day workshop on “ REFERENCE MANAGEMENT IN RESEARCH USING MENDELEY ”        was organized on 19 th September 2018 (Wednesday) by Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vishwaniketan’s Institute of Management Entrepreneurship &Engineering Technology (ViMEET), Kumbhivali. The objective of the workshop was to provide smart, latest ways of research and time saving methods for research while referring reputed journals. Prof. S. B. Kadam, Vice Principal & HOD, Mechanical Department was the convener for one day workshop. The event was graced by the presence of Vice President Dr. Sandip S. Inamdar, Principal Dr. B. R. Patil, ViMEET. The one day workshop was conducted by Dr. Chandra Shekhar Malvi (Ph.D. from University of Leeds, UK and Professor, MITS, Gwalior).Total 60 participants from different Institutes of Maharashtra State were present for this One day workshop. Seminar on “Energy Management and Energy Audit” was organized on 04 th September, 2018 by the department of Mechanical Engineering , Vishwaniketan’s Institute of Management Entrepreneurship & Engineering Technology (iMEET). The seminar was sponsored by Petroleum Conservation and Research Association (PCRA) . The objectives of the seminar were as follows: 1.       Procure energy at lowest possible price 2.       Manage energy use at highest energy efficiency 3.       Reusing and recycling energy 4.       Select low investment technology to meet present requirement and environment condition 5.    Make use of wastes generated within the plant as sources of energy and reducing the component of purchased fuels and bills 6.       Careers in energy management and energy audit.                 QUAD- TORC SEASON 3 2018 VISHWANIKETANS iMEET's TEAM INFINITY has participated in FMAE QBDC SEASON 3 competition which was held at Hyderabad from 16th August to 19th August 2018. The competition was organized basically in two types, one was statics and other dynamics. In statics, Vishwaniketans iMEET team had sales presentation, Design and CAE presentation and technical inspection. In dynamics there was acceleration test, Breaking test, Maneuverability test, Kill the Hill Traction test and endurance and fuel economy test. TEAM INFINITY bagged  1st prize in Endurance test 1st prize as safest quad 2nd prize in maneuverability test

We are happy to announce that , the industry sponsored Mechatol laboratory has been inaugurated on 27th July 2018.            Vishwaniketan Mechatol lab is a joint venture between Vishwaniketan iMEET, Khalapur and Mechatol engineering solution, Pune. The aim of this lab is to provide training to the students so as to give solution to the real-time industry problems. The students will also get an understanding of Geometrical drawing and tolerances ( GD & T) which will help them to understand industry drawings.           32 students from Mechanical Engineering Department are selected of which 25 are of final year and 7 from third year. These students will be working in group on 8 industry projects.

Department of Mechanical Engineering had B.E. Project presentations on 3rd and 4th May. All the projects were exceptionally good , many students did industrial projects and provided solution to their problems and few projects were inhouse and developed in the departmental workshop.
